Ahh, hello my friend!
I have so many thoughts today!!
Re-think life and get out of survival mode. Hmmmm. Sounds easy? Well its not. So stop telling yourself it should be.
I watched an interview Inside Quest did with Tony Robbins – Tony Robbins on the Science of Achievement - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFN32ZJ-nMY – (Always intrigued and inspired by what this man has to say.) He has dedicated his life to figuring out people. How people tick and how to help improve the quality of someone's life. That is my mission as well. I want to share my learnings; my life discoveries in hopes it helps [even] just one person relate and change the way they are thinking. Change the way they are thinking to help improve their life. You know, change your thinking, change your life.
If you figure me out, I want an explanation. Ha!
Guess who needs to be figuring me out. (Do I really need to say it?)
I had to get to digging underneath the fascade, underneath the conditioning of what I was telling myself all of these years. ALL of these years!
The challenge was to re-think my entire approach to life. The purpose was to help me simplify and get back to the fundamentals.
Sadly, most people's lives are filled to the brim with the nonessential and trivial. We don't make time to build toward anything meaningful. Again, tomorrow. There's always tomorrow.
So, we stay in survival mode.
Are you in survival mode?
I was in 'survival' mode. I use to say – with pride even – that I was a survivor of my life's circumstances. Until one day I realized I was looking at progressing FROM those circumstances – all wrong. Afterall, deep down, if I really looked and re-defined what I wanted, heck what I needed, was to be THRIVING, not mearly surviving. Surviving wasn't big enough. Surviving implied I was a victum of my circumstances. Oh, no no.... I wanted to be thriving, dispite my circumstance. That's a different view from the top.
Most of us are like butter scraped over too much bread. Unfortunately, the bread is not even our own, but someone else's. Very few people have made the time to take their lives into their own hands.
Tony says that the key to happiness is progress.
What does that need to look like? How do I – should I– would I– could I... define progress?
Why even progress?
If you don't purposefully carve time out every day to progress and improve – without question, your time will get lost in the vacuum of our increasingly crowded lives. Before you know it, you'll be old and withered – wondering where all the time went? Where the heck is my tomorrow?
I read a quote that said, "You pile up enough tomorrows, and you'll find you are left with nothing but a lot of empty yesterdays."
Shit.
Life is busy. It can feel impossible to move toward your dreams. If you have a full-time job and kids, hell, it's even harder.
And on who's terms?
It was social and cultural to live our lives on other people's terms only just ONE generation ago. However, there is a growing collective-consciousness that with a lot of work and intention – you can live every moment of your life on your own terms.
You are the designer of your destiny.
You are responsible.
You get to decide.
You MUST decide – because if you don't, someone else will.
Indecision is a bad decision.
Plain and simple.
So take a deep, deep breath.
First start and examine your routine. Your first 'start of the day' routine.
Does it look like this?
Wake up.
Get in the zone.
Get moving.
Put the right food in your body.
Get ready.
Get inspired.
Get perspective.
Do something to move you forward.
Sound simple? (Come on, I just numbered them for you!)
1. Wake up.
Get at least 7+ hours of sleep.
Google the importance of sleep. It will blow your mind! This one is a work in progress for me. Constantly. There aren't enough hours in the day sometimes to get all the things done! But truth be told, without sleep the cost goes up.
Sleep is just as important as eating and dringing water.
Despite this, millions of people do not sleep enough and consequently experience insane problems as a result.
So, Google and decide for yourself what steps you can reasonalbly do if this is a problem for you too.
2. Get in the Zone.
Meditation, prayer – however you want to wrap your brain around it – is crucial for orienting yourself towards the postive. What you focus on expands. So, take a moment to meditate, focus, on your 'why' (and watch, the 'how' show up!)
3. Get moving.
If you want to be among the healthy, happy and productive people in the world, get in the habit of regular excercise. I know, I know.... UGGGH!
Research your 'THING' - go find the things that make you feel good, whatever that is. You've just not found your 'thing'. Don't give up. It's waiting for you. Go find it! It won't disappoint!
4. Put the right food in your body.
This sets the tone for the day. Fuel the body to get going. There's a whole host of 'to-do's' on this topic! Stay away from processed and refined sugar; portion control; eat more protein; eat less protein; monitor your calcium; don't eat dairy; eat plant based...the list goes on.
Research the 'why' and the 'what' certain foods do FOR you and make your own decision on what, most importantly, you CAN do to put one foot in front of the other and start progressing! Not just what you should do, but what you CAN do.
What CAN I do to be consistent and progressing.
Show up.
How do you feel.
How do you want to feel.
Adjust.
You do it 'until' you can find yourself consistent and feeling better. Once you START feeling better, you'll want to do more of that!
So I'm not going to get all technical here. Progress is baby-steps afterall!
5. Get Ready.
Tony Robbins starts ever morning by jumping into a 57º swimming pool!
Why?
Cold water immersion radically facilitate physical and mental wellness. It provides long lasting changes to your body's immune system; lymphatic system; digestive system; and will just lend to improving the quality of your life. Cold water triggers a wave of mood-boosting neurochemicals which make you FEEL happy!
Sounds like a polar-bear club initiation, but again, research the theory behind this and you choose.
What CAN you do and how will it help you progress?
6. Get inspired.
Listen to/read uplifting content!
I love to listen to a quick (7 minute) video on YouTube that will just jazz me up and get me THINKING in the right direction.
Find who gets you going. Who you relate to. Getting ready for a 'superbowl' day puts you in the zone to preform at your highest.
I have a 'playlist' on my YouTube channel, check it out. Find one that 'talks' to you.

Here's another saying that keeps me juiced. (I have it on my desk top!)
Train constantly.
Never stop.
Keep immersing yourself.
All the fucking time.
(AFT)
7. Get Perspective.
Reveiw your life's vision.
Your goals should be written down. Short term/long term. Taking just a few minutes to read your life's vision puts your day into perspective. (This part is easy. . . the hard part is CONSISTENCY. Creating a habit, routine, a ritual to do this EVERY DAY. Crazy that that's the hard part! But alas, creating a habit, routine, ritual – especially when it's in your favor – takes time to take root. (TIME: Things I Must Earn!)
Have you done a vision board or wish book yet? This is very helpful to root your vision's perspective. (An example of my wish book is on my YouTube channel...

What you see, you seek.
Achieving goals, manifesting dreams into reality is a science. There's no confusion or ambiguity to it. If you follow a simple pattern, you can accomplish all of your goals.
But you have to start by getting something down on paper. And then, most importantly, review them every day.
8. Do something to move you forward.
Do at least ONE thing towards your goals.
Think of it this way, if you do the hard stuff first thing in the morning, 'eat the frog'. (Quick review here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0W7GB5Fh2XM)
Do the important stuff first, it gets done. Its over. You won't have to fight with yourself later, when you're tired and exhausted. You'll be fried. There will be a million reasons to just start tomorrow. And, here we go again.
So your mantra becomes: The worst comes first!
After you've done this morning routine, no matter what you have for the rest of the day, you would have done the important stuff first. The stuff that will help you progress. You will have put yourself in a place to succeed.
You will inch your way to your dreams.
You will show up better in life.
You'll be better at your job.
You'll be better at your relationships.
You'll be better.
You'll be happier.
You'll be more confident.
You'll be more bold and daring.
You'll have more clarity and vision.
Your life will shortly change.
You'll quickly find you're doing the work you're passionate about.
You will have freedom and abundance.
The world and the universe will respond to you in beautiful ways.
It's all right there, waiting for you to design and decide.
Or not.
And how's that working for ya?
