Staying Curious

"Your spirit is the only true navigational force in your life. Your personality is the passenger, not the driver! Most people believe it is the personality that matters. As a result, there are things they believe they cannot do because such things don't fit their personality. Poor creatures! As long as they insist on listening to the passenger, they will probably end up getting lost" ~ Iyanla Vansant

This sure did grab me today! Realizing who really is in charge!

Just stay curious.

What needs to happen for my hopes, dreams, desires and passions to surface and take root?

What is nudging me?

What are those 'can't-quite-put-my-finger-on-it' feelings that are talking to me?

The quality of our lives through the experiences we have is determined by how we experience our own self, and the life we dream about within ourselves.

What you feel and what you think about yourself and about your life is what will show up in your life.

There is nothing, nothing you can possibly change in your external world, change in your surroundings, that will permanently change your internal realities.

Go ahead, read that again, I'll wait.

Now breathe.

There is no amount of money, no relationship, no job, no level of success that can alter or change your inner experience.

But the chase is on....daily, isn't it?

What you do on the outside gets its meaning by how you feel on the inside.

Your deepest thoughts and your darkest feelings about your own self are the filter through which you see, experience and live your life.

Scratch your head a few times with me now as you realize that this makes TOTAL sense.

After all, the only one you have to. . . wait, strike that – NEED to admit this to is yourself. Right? I mean who else REALLY matters?

So, the question becomes, how do you see yourself from within yourself?

How do you feel about yourself moment-by-moment on any given day?

What is the one thing you tell yourself about 'you' that you know is not kind, loving, compassionate or even productive? How about this one. . . is your life a reflection of the good you feel about yourself?

If not, why not?

What is it that you tell yourself about your circumstances, your situations and the conditions of your life that do not match – are not congruent – to how you see yourself?

I know, I know – here we go agian, Lucia.

And again I'll ask, how's that working for ya?

Just sayin'.

I do not sit in judgement. I'm in the 'doing' phase right now. And I'm staying curious.

I only offer the "what if's"– the "why's" – the curiosity you can [and should] have about yourself on a daily basis.

Since moving out here to Los Angeles – or rather, since jumping off my life as I've become accustomed to saying – that is what I do EVERY DAY.

I stay curious.

You know the kind of thing no body told you you should be doing for ALL these past years.

So, I'm 57 years old, and I'm just getting started! If not now, when? (One of my daily mantra's. I have many! And I love each and every one of them.)

Curiosity keeps me sane.

Curiosity is a more gentle approach from the [much] more strick, chastising, perfectionist-chasing approach from years past.

Curiosity keeps me from swimming back to the 'ship' that brought me to this place. You know the saying my fellow Tony Robbin's fans – you got to burn the boats to make that change unstoppable! (paraphrasing here a bit. . .)

If I stay 'curious' about me, then its a kinder, more compassionate inner voice that talks back. It's then questions and curiosity about the 'why's' and the 'why nots' of my life and of my inner talk.

What about that as a process?

Funny thing is, it's you who will be found. (she *winks* at the screen).

Got this note from the Universe the other day, thought it mades sense to share it here:

Lucia, please don't let the wisdom you seek or the changes you wish to manifest be driven by feelings that you're somehow flawed, weak, or lacking. Because the ability to imagine change in spite of the illusions that surround you and move toward it without even knowing 'how' your kingdom will come, is the hallmark of perfection, strength, and divinity.

As if crazy, sexy, cool wasn't already enough!
